The Land of the Living

A new historical drama by David Lan, former Artistic Director of the Young Vic. Artie Wilkinson-Hunt, playing the young Thomas truly steals the show under the direction of Stephen Daldry (who famously elicited a superb performance from Jamie Bell in Billy Elliot).
The play open in 1945 Germany: Thomas, one of thousands of children stolen by the Nazis from Eastern Europe during WWII, is under the care of Ruth, a UN relief worker. Should she try to find his parents or leave him with those he’s grown up with? The choice she makes will shape his life. Years later, in 1990’s London, Thomas visits Ruth. As they untangle the past, the decisions Ruth made as a very young woman are called powerfully into question.

GIANT
“I was lucky enough to see this at The Royal Court and it was unforgettable. John Lithgow transforms into a complex, curmudgeonly Roald Dahl and leaves you with your jaw on the floor by the play's end. Sophisticated in its writing, Giant is deceptively witty, haunting and timely.”
