One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest
Many of you will have seen (or at least heard of) the 1975 film version starring Jack Nicholson – which was one of the only films to receive the big five Oscars. It turned 50 this year, and the stage adaptation is seeing a revival on the London stage. Director Clint Dyer was behind one of the most successful stage productions of the last decade: Dear England. So, to say we are excited is to put it mildly.
The story: it explores the brutality of life in a psychiatric facility, which upon the arrival of a defiant Randle P. McMurphy (a gambler and provocateur) who leads a revolt against the head Nurse, leaves a resounding message of resisting conformity.
